Do you like kids, cameras, and outdoor adventure? Join NW Documentary and OMSI for the second year of the new DOCUMENTARY EXPLORERS CAMPS. These innovative camps take students ages 12-14 into nature to write, research, shoot, and edit their very own short documentaries.
This summer we return to the California Redwoods and head out to the high desert of central Oregon to teach documentary filmmaking as a tool for experiencing, exploring, understanding, and appreciating the natural scientific world. With the mentorship of award-winning documentary filmmakers and experienced science instructors, students are taken through the documentary filmmaking process as they investigate a topic relevant to the natural ecology of Oregon.
NW Documentary is seeking a production assistant. Duties will include: caring for production gear, working with kids on specific assignments, and assisting the documentary instructors.
Ideal candidate will have past experience working with students ages 12-14, strong audiovisual production skills, and a passion for the craft of documentary storytelling.
