Web Development and Design

NW Documentary turns five this year and we’ve outgrown our website. You can play a critical role in helping NW Documentary create a new online home. Challenge your skills and launch your portfolio to the next level.

We wish to create an elegant, sophisticated, and hip site to reflect not only our programs and services, but also our artistic qualities, and joie de vivre.

You will work directly with NW Documentary to design the look, feel, and user experience of a new website from the ground up, while offering your own creative insight. We’ll have all the standard elements of a commercial site (video clips, photo albums, calendar, shopping cart) so this project is the perfect showcase for your professional portfolio. Plus, you’ll apply your skills, creativity, and talent to a high visibility, high traffic site for a very good cause.

You have skills in the following:

• Strong visual design aesthetic
• Ability to create clean and efficient HTML/CSS
• Solid understanding of web design standards, typography, page layout
• HTML, CSS, ActionScript, XML, DHTML, PHP, MySQL, JavaScript
• Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Dreamweaver
• Knowledge of Wordpress and or other blogging tools a plus
• Knowledge of popular CMS (Drupal, Joomla)

We have a fun group of people in a great creative space in downtown Portland that truly enjoy the work they do.
